Art Exhibits Events and Mural Productions
S.H.E. Gallery was founded on an urge to help educate the public on graffiti history. Since 2014, Diaz has curated and co-curated exhibits and events with some of the most respected graffiti artists of Chicago, including "Family Resemblance: The Evolution of Chicago-Style Graffiti "co-curated with TRIXTER and PENGO.
Lectures, T.V. Interviews and Discussion Panels
Diaz has furthered discussions on the history and importance of graffiti education supported by various institutions and organizations, such as SAIC, Newberry Library, The Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, The Admiral at the Lake, Illinois Medical District and others.

FAMILY RESEMBLANCE:
THE EVOLUTION OF CHICAGO-STYLE GRAFFITI
ART EXHIBITION + EDUCATIONAL EVENTS PROMOTING EXHIBITION'S 3/4/2022 OPENING
This exhibition featured ten first generation graffiti writers who helped create Chicago-Style Graffiti: B-BOY B, DRASTIC, EAST, FESS, O.R.K.O., PENGO, SLANG, TAKE2, TRIXTER and WARP. It was an educational journey to learn about the roots of the movement that helped kids develop a unique art form that stretched its elements farther than anyone could have imagined. It was curated by S.H.E. Gallery's Founder and Director, Dulce M. Diaz and two first generation writers, most respected writers for their innovation and development of styles, PENGO and TRIXTER.
After years of looking for a space to showcase Chicago's evolution and credit its history, Diaz's proposal had been rejected from various galleries and creative spaces until Epiphany Center for the Arts took a strong interest in helping support the idea. This exhibition was in partnership with Epiphany Center for the Arts who housed the exhibit in the Epiphany's Catacomb Galleries and two panel discussions that were also live streamed and archived within this page. TAKE2 assisted as Project Manager for both panels.
It was originally planned for a 2019 opening and was pushed for various reasons including Covid. Learn more with a conversation with Dulce M. Diaz and Epiphany Center for the Art's Team, Owners, David Chase, Kimberly Rachal and Creative Director, Aaron Baker.
While the exhibition was pushed to 2022, Diaz found other opportunities to help promote the exhibition while engaging the public with their history and their art.

On December 21, 2023, we learned that one of the artists featured, O.R.K.O. passed away in his studio. His friends and family held a Celebration of Life for him in Logan Square and later, we spread his ashes in Lake Michigan and shared amongst us, followed by a Spray Jam in his Memory. Organized by TAKE2 and the entire hip-hop community.

"54B Gallery was an open venue for building community at a time for when there was not much going on...
I opened doors to everybody that I knew growing up that had artistic talents that I felt should be furthering expressing that." -B
